Episode 181 - Trials Equal Strength

Episode 181 - Trials Equal Strength

Good day, my friend, welcome to A Moment with Moj. Thank you so much for downloading the show. I am so glad that we're here today!

What a weekend, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. For me, folks. I had six consults on the weekend. And the first one was kind of rough, like I sort of predicted, but the other five went really well and I really, really enjoyed it, I really found myself; after I got over that initial fear and doubt that I could do it; really as soon as I started talking to people, all of that went away. And I got to hear stories about people who have decided to make music a bigger part of their lives. And to be part of that, it really got me excited. It takes me back to my WHY.

I have never told another person in my life that they can't sing. And I never want somebody to feel the way that I did that day. And doing these consults is so in line with that. It's just amazing how the world can line up. And of course, it was also the worst of times, given what's happening in Eastern Europe. Stand strong Ukraine. What other words can be said, Stand strong! Fuck you, Putin!

But the rest of the world we have to go on and so we shall!

Epictetus joins the show today and Epictetus tells us, "The trials you encounter will introduce you to your strengths, remain steadfast. And one day, you will build something that endures. Something worthy of your potential."

WEBVTT 1 00:00:07.559 --> 00:00:14.400 Good Day, my friend. Welcome to Um moment with modes. Thank you 2 00:00:14.599 --> 00:00:21.160 so much for downloading the show. I am so glad that we're here today. 3 00:00:21.879 --> 00:00:24.760 What a weekend. It was the best of times. It was the 4 00:00:24.800 --> 00:00:29.760 worst of times. I mean best of time for me. Folks, I 5 00:00:29.800 --> 00:00:35.280 had six consults on the weekend and the first one was kind of rough, 6 00:00:35.359 --> 00:00:41.759 like I sort of predicted, but the other five went really well and I 7 00:00:41.840 --> 00:00:48.159 really, really enjoyed it. I really found myself, after I got over 8 00:00:48.200 --> 00:00:54.679 that initial fear and doubt that I could do it, really as soon as 9 00:00:54.679 --> 00:00:59.640 I started talking to people, all of that went away and I got to 10 00:00:59.679 --> 00:01:04.799 hear stories about people who have decided to make music a bigger part of their 11 00:01:04.840 --> 00:01:10.959 lives and to be part of that. It really got me excited. It's 12 00:01:11.480 --> 00:01:15.280 it takes me back to, you know, to to my why, and 13 00:01:17.000 --> 00:01:23.200 I have never told another person in my life that they can't sing and I 14 00:01:23.239 --> 00:01:27.280 never want somebody to feel the way that I did that day and doing these 15 00:01:27.280 --> 00:01:34.879 consults is so in line with that. It's just amazing how the the world 16 00:01:34.920 --> 00:01:38.599 can line up. And of course it was also the worst of times, 17 00:01:38.640 --> 00:01:49.640 given what's happening in eastern Europe stand strong Ukraine. What other words? What 18 00:01:49.799 --> 00:01:56.040 other words can be said? Stand strong. Fuck you, Puddin, but 19 00:01:56.159 --> 00:02:00.319 the rest of the world, we have to go on, and so we 20 00:02:00.400 --> 00:02:07.799 shall. EPIC tits joins the show today, and epictetus tells us the trials 21 00:02:07.080 --> 00:02:15.120 you encounter will introduce you to your strengths. Remain steadfast and one day you 22 00:02:15.120 --> 00:02:23.599 will build something that endures, something worthy of your potential. When I think 23 00:02:23.639 --> 00:02:30.080 back on those big trials in my life and I think what did those trials 24 00:02:30.159 --> 00:02:37.120 teach me? And they taught me that I was tough, that I could 25 00:02:37.199 --> 00:02:40.639 take the punches that the universe was send in my way, and it taught 26 00:02:40.680 --> 00:02:46.919 me that I was strong because not only could I take those shots, I 27 00:02:46.960 --> 00:02:52.960 was still able to do what had to be done and that I could take 28 00:02:53.199 --> 00:03:00.479 the pain and not lash out at other people. Those trials taught me understanding 29 00:03:00.800 --> 00:03:07.719 and how I'm now better able to understand what other people are going through. 30 00:03:07.840 --> 00:03:14.719 I better understand what someone who deals with constant pain has to go through, 31 00:03:14.719 --> 00:03:19.719 and that led to compassion. I have more compassion for others than I did 32 00:03:19.759 --> 00:03:23.840 before these trials, and it led me to be a kinder and more caring 33 00:03:23.879 --> 00:03:29.000 person. Now I'm going to be honest. I'm still working on Nice. 34 00:03:29.800 --> 00:03:34.319 I'm still working on Nice, but I know I'm a good guy and being 35 00:03:34.479 --> 00:03:39.879 good is better than being nice. All my trials taught me about being of 36 00:03:40.120 --> 00:03:46.639 service, because there was a point in my life where I couldn't do anything 37 00:03:47.039 --> 00:03:54.400 beyond basic human necessities for myself and I was relying on the service of others. 38 00:03:54.439 --> 00:04:00.120 And, of course it taught me momental more. You never know, 39 00:04:00.639 --> 00:04:05.919 so you got to go. All that has led me to right now, 40 00:04:06.159 --> 00:04:10.759 and when I say it was one of the best weekends for me, it 41 00:04:10.800 --> 00:04:15.719 really was. My friend, I can't tell you how much it means to 42 00:04:15.759 --> 00:04:21.040 me to be able to help somebody along in their music journey. After those 43 00:04:21.079 --> 00:04:29.000 first couple consults, I couldn't sleep at night I was so excited. And 44 00:04:29.040 --> 00:04:36.160 that's just the start of this new journey. What heavier trials taught you about 45 00:04:36.240 --> 00:04:45.000 your strengths, my bread because you're strong too, and you can build something 46 00:04:45.079 --> 00:04:51.519 that endures and you can build something worthy of your potential. I know you 47 00:04:51.600 --> 00:05:00.160 can do it. I believe in you. Stand strong, Ukraine, carpe 48 00:05:00.319 --> 00:05:03.199 momentum. I'll talk to you tomorrow.
